AGUSTIN PAZ JR., age 71 of Tortugas, NM entered eternal life July 13, 2023. "Titine" as he was known lived a full life.  He worked for New Mexico State University for 30 years in the grounds department, ending his career as a ground's supervisor.  Upon retirement, he went to work for the City of Las Cruces in the parks and recreation division.

Titine was a die-hard New York Yankees and San Francisco 49'ers fan. He was a dedicated baseball and softball player.  He started playing with the Anthony, NM fastpitch league.  Some of the teams he played for included Winston Drug, Our Lady of Guadalupe (OLG), Diebels, Southwest Distributing, Portillo Trucking, Dona Ana Pest Control, and ended his playing career with the La Mesa Bluejays Old Timers League.

Titine was also the coach of many baseball and softball teams including those of his sons, daughters, and grandchildren.  An avid baseball, softball player, and fan Papa will be missed at all games.

A devoted husband, dad, papa, brother, and uncle he will be dearly missed by his family.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years Linda S. Paz of Tortugas; 4 children, Michelle G. Paz (Kenya), Isaiah Paz, Agustin Antonio Paz (April), and Lorena Paz-Padilla (Richard); 8 grandchildren, Isaac Padilla, Josiah Paz, Adrianna Paz, Daniel Paz, Javian Padilla, Isaiah Paz Jr, Alivia Ally Padilla, and Azariah Paz; brother to Fred Paz (Hilda), and Bertha Paz; uncle to several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria B. Paz and Agustin S. Paz of Tortugas, and his brother Sammy Paz.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 PM Friday, July 21, 2023 at The Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas with the Reverend Valentine Jankowski Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Tortugas Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Isaiah, Tony, Daniel, Josiah, and Freddy Paz, and Richard Padilla. Honorary bearers will be Isaiah Jr., and Azariah Paz, and Isaac and Javian Padilla.
