Life Legacy


LANCE A. WHEELER, 62, of Organ, NM passed away May 28, 2012. He was born to the late Floyd and Alice Wheeler on September 27, 1950 in Greeley, Colorado. Lance never graduated from high school but instead transferred into College in 1964. He received as degree from Vermillion, SD at the age of 20. Lance then taught at SDSU at Brookings College, joined the ROTC and graduated as a Lieutenant. He achieved a double Masters degree in Math and Physics. In 1975, Lance moved to Organ, NM beginning his civil service career working at the White Sands Missile Range as a Physicist in the Flight Safety Office from where he retired.

Lance was very active at Lutheran Mission Church where he rarely missed Sunday Church service or Bible class. He was an avid reader of the Bible and contributed a great deal to Bible classes. He was always searching for the truth.

Lance loved to snow ski, read, work on complex mathematical problems, and play games of all types especially Dungeons and Dragons, and Chess. He loved to participate in holiday gatherings, enjoyed eating and being around family and friends. Lance traveled the world with his lovely wife Cynthia.

Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife, Cynthia Wheeler; two sisters, Diana Brenner and Nadeen Stransky; a brother, Adrian Krag as well as his remaining family and friends who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service for Lance Wheeler will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10 AM in Mission Lutheran Church, 2752 N. Roadrunner Parkway in Las Cruces.
