CORINA P. LLAÑEZ, age 98, of Anthony entered eternal life Saturday, January 8, 2011 at La Posada – Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Anthony April 24, 1912 to Felipe and Tiburcia Provencio, a pioneer family from the Anthony farming community known as “El Bosque”. Mrs. Llañez married Jose D. Her grandchildren will fondly remember her for all her baked goods, especially her biscochos, oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies and atole. She was a devout Catholic and communicant of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she was a member of the Sacred Heart League, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and was also a Cursillista and served as a catechist. She leaves her children and grandchildren a legacy of being a hard worker, being honest and having faith.
