CORINE VIELMA NEVAREZ, age 80, lifelong resident of Tortugas entered eternal life on Monday, February 17, 2020 at La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice. She was born February 11, 1940 to Frank and Adela Gonzalez Vielma. Corine worked as a clerk for a laundromat and was a member of the Altar Society, A Religious Educator and a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

In 1956, Corine married the love of her life, Robert Nevarez and together they raised one son, Frank Nevarez (Barbara) of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Robert Vielma (Tillie) of Tortugas and David Vielma (Silvia) of Las Cruces. Other survivors include her granddaughter, Nicole Nevarez (Daniel) and grandson, Thomas Nevarez. Corine was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Maria Nevarez; and a sister, Toby Vielma.

The Funeral Mass for Corine will begin at 10 AM Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas with the Reverend Valentine Jankowski Celebrant. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.

Service as casket bearers will be Thomas, Frankie, Rudy and Gilbert Nevarez, Patrick and Robert Vielma.
